Join Just Security for a Summer 2025 Internship!
Just Security invites applications from current students, including law, graduate, and undergraduate students interested in summer internship with our small, collegial team working on issues at the intersection of law, policy, rights, democracy, and security. Applicants must have or be applying for external funding (e.g. from their university or other sources); if necessary, Just Security can provide a letter of invitation to selected candidates.
Students with an interest in law and/or policy will work closely with Just Security editors. The specific tasks of such an internship will be assigned according to the student’s degree program and areas of expertise/interest, as well as the needs of the team, and might include:
- Identifying authors for specific content areas;
- Helping to solicit, curate, and/or prepare articles for publication;
- Working with Just Security editors on site resources, such as factual compilations;
- Possibly co-authoring articles in areas of interest; and
- Participating in other activities to learn about the day-to-day management of the organization.
There are also opportunities for students in graphic design or digital media, who would work directly with our Director of Partnerships and Marketing on tasks that might include:
- Contributing to the development of social media strategies;
- Designing infographics and other content to help translate complex ideas into visually appealing formats, and working within templates to generate social media graphics;
- Assisting in the design of materials for public outreach and digital publishing;
- Assisting with WordPress organization and maintenance; and
- Participating in other activities to learn about the day-to-day management of the organization.
Experience with Canva, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or video editing skills are a plus for this position.
