Seth Barrett Tillman

Seth Barrett Tillman is an associate professor in the Maynooth University School of Law and Criminology, Ireland / Scoil an Dlí agus na Coireolaíochta Ollscoil Mhá Nuad. Tillman regularly teaches Irish and U.S. constitutional law, and equity and trust law. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School (cum laude) and a BA from the University of Chicago (with honors from the Department of Economics, and Phi Beta Kappa). In 2024, he was the recipient of the Landmark Legal Foundation’s John Locke Liberty Award, and in 2022, he was the recipient of the North Carolina Society of Historians Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contribution to the Preservation and Perpetuation of North Carolina History and Heritage. For over a decade, he has been an associate editor of the British Journal of American Legal Studies. His academic publications regularly appear in domestic and foreign peer-reviewed and student-edited journals, and his other publications have appeared in a variety of fora, including, e.g., The Irish Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Lawfare. Today’s contribution is his first publication on Just Security.
