Tarek Ghani
Tarek Ghani (@tghani) is an assistant professor of strategy at Washington University in St. Louis and a nonresident fellow of the Brookings Institution. Tarek’s research on political economy, development, and security has appeared in leading academic journals such as the American Economic Review. From 2020-2021, Tarek was chief economist and future of conflict program director at the International Crisis Group, where he previously served as senior economic adviser. He has also worked with the Center for Global Development, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Humanity United, the United States Institute of Peace, and the World Bank. Tarek holds a Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. from Stanford University.
