Representative Eric Swalwell
Eric Swalwell, 40, is serving his fifth term representing California’s 15th Congressional District in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Congressman Swalwell serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he chairs the Intelligence Modernization and Readiness Subcommittee; the House Judiciary Committee; and the House Homeland Security Committee. A leader in the House, he is co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which makes committee assignments and sets the caucus’ policy agenda. He also founded and is chairman emeritus of Future Forum, a group of almost 50 young Democratic Members of Congress focused on issues and opportunities for millennial Americans.
Congressman Swalwell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 2003, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2006. Before being elected to Congress in 2012, he served as an Alameda County Deputy District Attorney and as a Dublin (CA) City Council member.
