Kristin Smith (@kristinjpsmith) directs the Atrocity Crimes Initiative, a joint initiative of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section and Center for Human Rights to advance atrocity prevention, response, and accountability. The Initiative includes projects aimed at strengthening legal frameworks and international criminal justice institutions, such as the International Criminal Court Project and a Working Group on Crimes Against Humanity, among others. Prior to the ABA, she worked as a Fellow at the Global Justice Center in New York and the Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute at Washington University School of Law, and as a legislative analyst and criminal prosecutor in Oregon. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She is also on LinkedIn.
