Fuad Shahbazov

Fuad Shahbazov (X) is a policy analyst covering regional security issues in the South Caucasus and a former research fellow at the Center for Strategic Studies and senior analyst at the Center for Strategic Communications in Azerbaijan. He was also a visiting scholar at the Daniel Morgan School of National Security in Washington, DC.
He frequently provides the local and international media with analytical insights regarding the major developments in the post-Soviet region and beyond.
From 2016 to 2018, Fuad worked as a Research Fellow at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM). In 2018, Fuad was a Visiting Scholar at the Daniel Morgan School of National Security (Prevention of Violence Program) in Washington, D.C.
Fuad obtained his first master’s degree (MA) in Politics at the Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania (2016), an Executive Master’s degree in Terrorism, Prevention, and Counter-Radicalization at the University of Bergamo (2021), and a master of science (MSc) degree in Defense and Development at the University of Durham (2022).
