Rashmin Sagoo

Rashmin Sagoo is Director of the International Law programme at Chatham House. She developed her international law, policy and diplomatic experience in the government, humanitarian and international organization sectors.
Rashmin joined Chatham House from the British Red Cross where she advised it and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement on a range of issues, notably: international humanitarian law, international human rights law, international disaster laws, data and counterterrorism.
She was formerly a UK government lawyer and diplomat, advising on human rights, international humanitarian law, EU law/Brexit, UN Security Council resolutions and international judicial architecture; and a European Commission expert on proposals to strengthen EU equality and non-discrimination laws.
She has led several high-profile cases before domestic and international courts, including the Court of Justice of the European Union, the US Supreme Court, and as agent to the European Court of Human Rights.
