Gabriela Iveliz Rosa Hernández (@GabrielaIRosa) is an Associate Research Analyst in the Russia Studies Program at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA). She is also a Eurasia Program Research Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute and a consultant for the International Crisis Group’s Europe and Central Asia Team. Her research interests focus on European security architecture, threat perceptions in the Euro-Atlantic region, and Russia’s security policy, supplemented by her significant in-country experience living in Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries in the region.
Her work has been published in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist, Foreign Policy Research Institute, Real Clear Defense, the International Crisis Group, Trust & Verify, and Arms Control Today, among others. Gabriela holds an IntM in Central and East European, Russian and Eurasian Studies from the University of Glasgow and a BA from the University of Puerto Rico.
Prior to her work at CNA, Gabriela worked at the Arms Control Association. Her commentary on European security has also been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, and other media. She is also on LinkedIn.
