Jason Rizzo is an emergency coordinator at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). A former sound designer and recording engineer in Chicago’s film and advertising sector, he has worked on the ground in numerous humanitarian emergencies linked to armed conflict, epidemics, and/or mass displacement of refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. He has coordinated response efforts and negotiated with state and non-state actors in the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Ukraine, and as part of MSF’s search and rescue mission in Libya and on the Mediterranean Sea. He holds a master’s degree in international development from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
