Regina Waugh
Regina Waugh has more than a decade of experience in public service. She currently serves in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, where she works to develop public-private partnerships and to increase access to preventive mental health services. Regina came to the Department of Mental Health from the L.A. County Chief Executive Office, where she served as the inaugural Executive Director of the L.A. County Women and Girls Initiative.
Regina’s prior government service focused on national security, human rights, and gender issues. During the Obama Administration she served as the Director for Human Rights and Gender at the White House National Security Council and as the Chief of Staff in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues at the U.S. Department of State. She has also served at the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and the Office of Management and Budget.
Regina grew up in Irvine, California. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Psychology, a master’s degree in Public Policy, and a Juris Doctorate, all from the University of California, Berkeley.
