Dr. Peter Poullos (@PetePoullos) is a Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology and Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University. As Founder and Director of the Stanford Medicine Abilities Coalition, he is dedicated to improving inclusion and access for healthcare providers, staff, and patients with disabilities. He serves on the School of Medicine Faculty Senate, the Diversity Cabinet, and as a faculty advisor to the Stanford Medical Students with Disability and Chronic Illness. His specialty is abdominal imaging, with focus on emergency and oncologic diseases.
Dr. Poullos trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the University of California San Francisco. His gastroenterology training was cut short by a spinal cord injury, after which he did a second residency and fellowship in Radiology and Body Imaging at Stanford University. He received his BA from Santa Clara University and his medical degree in 1999 from the University of Texas at Houston, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
