Dr. Kelsey Norman (@kelseypnorman) is a Fellow for the Middle East and Director of the Women’s Rights, Human Rights & Refugees program at the Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. Her research focuses on migration, refugees, women’s rights, security, and governance in the Middle East and North Africa. Her writing has been published in academic journals including the European Journal of International Relations, International Studies Review, the Journal of North African Studies, International Migration Review, the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, the Journal of Middle East and North African Migration Studies, the International Journal of Migration and Border Studies, the Journal of the Middle East and Africa, Égypte/Monde arabe, Refugee Review, The Postcolonialist, and Crossings: Journal of Migration & Culture. She has also published policy-oriented articles in the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage Blog, The Atlantic, Political Violence at a Glance, Jadaliyya, and Muftah, and has given radio and television interviews related to her research. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California Irvine, a M.P.P. from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
