Maksym Popov

Maksym Popov is the Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Since 2011, Maksym has been working as an attorney at law. Since 2015, he has become an environmental lawyer and human rights defender. His work focused on protecting the natural environment through the rule of law principle and litigation: law enforcement in conservation and protected areas, promoting citizens’ and NGOs’ right to access information and justice in environmental matters, and legal aid to the human rights defenders of human right to clean and healthy and sustainable environment. 

Since October 2022, Maksym has held the position of Adviser to the Prosecutor General. He is leading the direction of prosecuting ecocide and environmental war crimes resulting from the Russian aggression against Ukraine. He is also on LinkedIn.
