Tim Mathews (@timmathews) became a US Army JAG officer in 2012.  Before attending law school, he served as a US Army infantry officer from 1999 to 2008.  His service includes a deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2001-2002 and a combined two years deployed to Iraq in 2003, 2005, and 2007.  He earned an MBA from George Washington University in 2009, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine in 2011.  Prior to returning to the Army as a JAG officer, he worked as an intelligence analyst and lecturer on Afghan law.  His other legal interests include Islamic law, regulation of Islamic finance, and international trade law.
