Mason W. Krusch is an independent researcher specializing in disinformation and influence operations. He has published several articles in the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism’s Global Network on Extremism & Technology (GNET) investigating and proposing technology- and education-based countermeasures to far-right online radicalization and the proliferation of conspiracy theories normalizing political violence. Additionally, his recent peer-reviewed journal article for Small Wars & Insurgencies (Routledge) traces the historical development of Russia’s influence operations over the past half-century from Afghanistan and Chechnya to Ukraine. He has also written on the nexus between Russia’s public diplomacy and malign influence operations in Georgia for The Defence Horizon Journal.
