Floor Knoote (@FloorKnoote) is a human rights researcher focused on corporate accountability for human rights violations. She is academically trained as a criminologist in the analysis of International Crimes, applying legal and criminological research methods. Floor has investigated human rights violations in the extractives, garment and financial industries and has managed field studies in countries such as Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, and Uganda to provide evidence for case development and advocacy strategies. She has built expertise on the protection of and threats against human rights defenders that challenge corporate power and -as part of this -increasingly focuses on the impacts of Combatting the Financing of Terrorism policies on their security. In 2021 she joined the legal team of human rights law firm Global Justice Association, which aims to hold corporations accountable for human rights violations by taking legal action against them.
