Josh Jorgensen

Josh Jorgensen (@Josh__Jorgensen) is a UN and Peacekeeping Advisor at the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC). He supports CIVIC’s research and advocacy on the peacekeeping missions MINUSMA (Mali) and MINUSCA (Central African Republic), and leads on engagement with the UN’s Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C-34).
Prior to joining CIVIC, Josh worked as a consultant for the UN Department of Peace Operations, where he undertook a comprehensive review of the UN peacekeeping mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Prior to that, his field research in Liberia studied community engagement in the context of mission transition. Josh was an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and served on a combat deployment to Afghanistan. In total, he has over seven years of experience in international operations and research.
Josh holds Master’s degrees in international affairs and political science from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Macalester College.
