Ivan Horodyskyy

Ivan Horodyskyy was born and works in Lviv, Ukraine. In 2009, he received a master’s degree in public international law from Ivan Franko Lviv National University. From 2009 to 2012, he studied at a Doctoral school, and in 2014, he obtained Ph.D. degree with the thesis on “International legal status of foreign military bases.”
From 2014 to 2020 Ivan he served as the Founding Director of the Law School at the Ukrainian Catholic University. During his tenure, he oversaw the launch of a Master’s program in human rights, several certificate programs, and the activities of the UCU Rule of Law Center.
Horodyskyy has been practicing law since 2008. From 2013 to 2015, he served as Legal Counsel for the Lviv IT Cluster business association. In 2018, he was admitted to the Ukrainian Bar. Since July 2020, he has been the managing partner of Dexis Partners Law Firm. In 2023, he was recognized by “Yurydychna Gazeta” (Legal Newspaper) among the Top 100 lawyers in Ukraine and as one of the leading lawyers in the practice areas of IT law and compensation for war damages.
In 2021, he co-founded and led the Stanislav Dnistryanskyi Center for Politics and Law, managing projects related to compensation for Ukraine due to damages caused by Russian aggression. Since 2014, Horodyskyy has been a member of the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, joining the Board in 2021, and becoming Vice-President of the Association in 2023. His articles are regularly published in the Ukrainian media, including European Pravda and “Yurydychna Gazeta” (Legal Newspaper).
During the Russian-Ukrainian war, he engaged in volunteer assistance to the Defense Forces and was recognized for his contributions.
