Donell Harvin
Donell Harvin (Bluesky – LinkedIn – X) is a homeland security expert from Washington, DC who provides expertise to MSNBC/NBC News, CNN, INTERPOL and the UN Office of Counter Terrorism. He is a Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health, where he oversees the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative’s (HHI) WMD training program, and is adjunct faculty in several schools at Georgetown University. He has been involved in major incidents including 9/11, the Sandy Hook school shooting, the January 6th Attack on the US Capitol and most recently disaster-related capacity building activities within Ukraine.
Dr. Harvin’s public safety career spans over 30 years and includes executive roles in fire/EMS, law enforcement and forensics, Countering WMDs, homeland security and intelligence. He holds graduate degrees in environmental science, emergency management and terrorism studies and a doctorate in environmental epidemiology, with a focus on bioterrorism.
