Tracey Gurd

Tracey Gurd (new at @traceygurd1) is Senior Director of Civil and Political Rights and Advocacy at American Jewish World Service (AJWS). She leads a grantmaking team that funds pro-democracy and justice social movements in Asia, Central America and Africa. Gurd also oversees AJWS’s advocacy, including on U.S. foreign policy. Prior to joining AJWS in 2016, Gurd spent 12 years at the Open Society Foundations. For a decade, she monitored international war crimes trials and directed the advocacy for OSF’s public interest law arm, the Open Society Justice Initiative. In her last two years at OSF, she was a Division Director for Strategy.
She holds a Masters of Public International Law, Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law from the University of Melbourne and graduated from the Australian National University with a combined arts and law bachelor’s degree. She is also on LinkedIn.
