Vanita Gupta

Vanita Gupta (X) is a distinguished Scholar in Residence at NYU Law. She was Associate Attorney General of the United States from 2021 to 2024. She has devoted her career to advancing civil rights, strengthening democratic norms, and building safe communities at national organizations and in the federal government. At NYU School of Law, Gupta teaches and speaks about civil rights, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the intersection of public policy and law. She also serves as a consultant for several pro-democracy organizations.
