Jean Garner

Jean Garner (Bluesky – LinkedIn) has worked in media development and journalism advocacy/education for more than two decades, primarily in Eastern Europe, first as a Knight International Press Fellow and then as a TV advisor in Bosnia.

She is also an experienced broadcast news producer and documentary filmmaker, having worked for both ABC News and Al Jazeera.
Her most recent role was as the head of Journalism Development and Training at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Prague (2016-2021).

Her first novel, “Under the Influence,” about two geopolitically hapless Americans getting ensnared in the world of Ukrainian oligarchs and Russian con men, was published in January 2025.
