Francesca Fanucci
Francesca Fanucci (@franfanu) is an Italian/British lawyer who has worked in international and European Union law for over 20 years. She currently serves as Senior Legal Advisor at the European Center for Not-For-Profit Law (ECNL), where she leads ECNL’s work on how civil society organizations can use EU law to defend fundamental rights and civic space. She also works on projects addressing the impact of new and emerging technologies on civic space and advocating for regulatory frameworks and standards at global, regional and national level. She represents the Conference of International NGOs of the Council of Europe (CINGO) at the Council of Europe Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) and at the Committee of Experts on the Impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Freedom of Expression. She was a member of the group of experts assisting the Organisation of American States (OAS) Jurists’ Committee to develop their first Declaration on Neuroscience, Neurotechnology and Human Rights, approved in August 2021.
Francesca is currently a member of the Community of Experts at the International Council on Environmental Economics and Development (I-CEED) and at the Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC).
