Lauren-Brooke Eisen (LinkedIn – Bluesky – X)  is Senior Director of the Justice Program at the Brennan Center for Justice and author of Inside Private Prisons: An American Dilemma in the Age of Mass Incarceration (Columbia University Press). She also is editor of Excessive Punishment: How the Justice System Creates Mass Incarceration. She previously served as an assistant district attorney, in addition to working for the Vera Institute of Justice in its Center on Sentencing and Corrections.
