Professor Laura R. Cleary has three decades of experience as an academic, author and consultant specializing in security governance and management. She is the Director of Oakwood International Security and holds appointments as an Adjunct Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, Virginia, working specifically on the Defense Institution Building (DIB) team a Visiting Professor in International Security at Cranfield University at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom; and a Member of Universal Defence and Security Solutions (UK).
A leading expert in the fields of security cooperation, governance and defense transformation, her research in the field has contributed to British and other governments’ policy formation and strategic planning. Her most recent publication is Managing Security: Concepts and Challenges (Routledge, 2021). Cleary is on LinkedIn.
