Danya Chaikel (@danyachaikel) is the Representative to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and serves as Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s War Crimes Committee. She is a qualified Canadian barrister and solicitor, specialising in international criminal law and justice. Danya has worked at various international criminal courts and tribunals, including the ICC, ICTY, and the SPO (Kosovo), as well as with UN bodies, NGOs, and professional legal organizations. As a human rights advocate, she has addressed numerous social justice issues affecting marginalized groups, including refugee rights, victims’ rights, human trafficking, accountability for grave international crimes, gender justice, fair trial rights, and workplace misconduct in international justice institutions.
