Alexander Bick

Alexander Bick (@Alexander_Bick) is a Research Fellow at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, the school’s premier research institute for the study of history, strategy, and statecraft. He previously served in the Obama administration on the Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Staff and as Director for Syria at the National Security Council. Before joining government, he worked on conflict and democratization initiatives around the world for The Carter Center, a non-governmental organization led by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. Alexander studied political science and economics before receiving a PhD in history from Princeton University. He lives in Washington, DC.
