Paul Barker

Paul Barker is a third year law student at Columbia Law School and a legal intern at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University. Prior to law school, he was a city reporter at TheBurg Magazine in Harrisburg, Pa., where he received statewide awards for beat and investigative reporting and the 2015 award for distinguished writing. A senior editor of the Columbia Law Review, Paul is pursuing a public interest career in the areas of freedom of the press and government transparency. He spent his 1L summer in St. Louis with the ArchCity Defenders, working on impact litigation over police policies and jails in St. Louis counties, including Ferguson, Mo. He is a native of St. Louis and a graduate of the Honors Program at Fordham University, where he majored in English and Philosophy.
