Amanda Strayer
Amanda Strayer (@AmandaLStrayer) is an Associate Attorney for Human Rights Accountability at Human Rights First, where she supports the organization’s targeted human rights and anti-corruption sanctions coalition, a group of more than 250 NGOs using the Global Magnitsky Act and other legal authorities to hold human rights abusers and corrupt actors accountable. Throughout her career, she has worked on various international humanitarian law and international human rights law issues impacting women and girls, LGBTQI+ persons, refugees, detained persons, and activists, focused primarily on Africa, the Near East, and South and Central Asia. She received her J.D. and a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
