Kathryn Achilles
Kathryn Achilles (@katcophony) is Senior Humanitarian Policy Advisor at Oxfam International’s New York Office. She leads the organisation’s advocacy towards the UN Security Council and other UN institutions on a number of humanitarian emergencies and conflicts, including Yemen, Syria, South Sudan and DRC. She previously spent 18 months as an emergencies campaign manager with the organisation, deploying to Southern Africa and the Lake Chad Basin. Before joining Oxfam, she worked as Saferworld’s Advocacy Advisor for Somalia and the Horn of Africa, and worked with Amnesty International in various roles on the East and West Africa desks, on issues related to the protection of civilians in conflict, displacement, and economic and social rights. She is a graduate of the University of York and University College London.
