We are absolutely delighted to announce the two latest additions to Just Security‘s Board of Editors–Oona Hathaway and Nathalie Weizmann.
Oona, who will be joining us in September, just wrapped up her tenure as Special Counsel to the General Counsel for National Security Law in the Department of Defense Office of General Counsel. She is leaving Washington to return to her full-time gig as Gerard C. and Bernice Latrobe Smith Professor of International Law at Yale Law School–where her research and writing focus on the intersection between domestic and international law, especially in the context of public international law, including international criminal law and the laws of war.
Nathalie, who joins us today, is Senior Director of the Counterterrorism and Human Rights Project at Columbia Law School. Before taking her current position, she spent seven years as a legal adviser with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), both at the ICRC’s Geneva headquarters and in the field. She’s an expert on legal and policy issues relating to national security and the intersection of international humanitarian law and human rights law.
Needless to say, we’re tremendously excited about both of these new editions to the Just Security team!!
