Michael W. Lewis (@MikeLewis64) is the Ella A. and Ernest H. Fisher Professor of Law at Ohio Northern University School of Law. He is the co-author of The War on Terror and the Laws of War: A Military Perspective, published by Oxford University Press. He has testified before Congress on the legality of drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen and on the civil liberties tradeoffs associated with trying some Al Qaeda members or terrorist suspects before military commissions. He earned a B.A. from Johns Hopkins and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1998. Prior to entering law school he served in the U.S. Navy from 1987-95 where he flew F-14’s from the aircraft carrier USS Independence. He graduated from the Navy’s Topgun fighter weapons school in 1992.
